I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor and I am registered and accredited with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Being an Integrative Counsellor means that I have been trained in many approaches which I can draw on to suit the needs of the individual. As we are all different, one approach does not fit all. I work mainly from a Psychodynamic approach and integrate Attachment Theory, and Transactional Analysis while keeping the relationship between counsellor and client central to the counselling process. Often people worry about the approach of the counsellor and get stuck on choosing the right person especially when not knowing what the approaches really mean. However, I believe that counselling is much more about the connection between counsellor and client and whether you feel you can open up and feel comfortable in the session. I offer my clients a safe space, free from judgement where you can start to make sense of your troubles.
In our counselling sessions, we can explore together what might be holding you back in your life. We receive strong messages from a young age and indeed throughout life and often we are operating more from these without even knowing. Very often, our own needs, wants, hopes and expectations get lost and we no longer know ourselves very well. In the unbiased space of counselling, all you need to do is start talking and I will help you make sense of it all.
